South East of England zoekt partner in Interreg IVB project

Interreg 4b North West Europe Programme
Project Application Draft Outline, Call 7 (24/9/10)
Priority 1: Developing the new knowledge-based economy by capitalizing on our capacity for innovation

Entrepreneurial Regions' Innovation Chains (ENRICH)

Rationale
Moving academic ideas out of the university campus and into the commercial world is one of the major challenges to economic development faced by the knowledge triangle today. Universities are great thinkers, businesses aspire to be entrepreneurial as measured by financial success, government's role is to set the right conditions to enable all to benefit. The ENRICH project will take three regions, their university specialisms, a selection of their SMEs and their governing bodies and investigate how the complementarity of each specialism can be widened to benefit the partner regions. The purpose of this project is therefore to audit, test out and verify that cross-referencing approaches specific to sectors and applying them in other sectors can benefit stakeholders. If so, these findings will be offered up widely to the European Union through dissemination intermediaries such as Eurochambres, UEAPME, BusinessEurope and through the Committee of the Regions via Members from the target regions as well as reported to MEPs, national delegations and relevant DGs within the European Commission (Enterprise, Regio, Education & Culture etc.).
