The Greater Manchester Commission for the New Economy in the North West of England is looking
for European partners to exchange knowledge and best practice and to foster trans-national
learning in the area of mental health and employment.

They are currently preparing a project looking at health inequalities to submit to the PROGRESS
call which closes 2nd July, and are keen to find European partners to develop a good cooperation
with as part of this project. A summary of the project idea is below.

Reducing health Inequalities by increasing the numbers of people with mental health issues
(mild to moderate) who stay in employment during periods of treatment.

• Pilot activities for developing the care pathway for clients in ways that will help them retain
 employment.
• To develop new approaches with the active involvement of clients and social care/health delivery
 staff.
• To partner with  European partner to identify tools and approaches that can be used across
national boundaries (and within different models of state social care and health provision)
• To develop capacity amongst delivery staff through action learning
